The Information Portal for the Battlefields of Western Macedonia was implemented by a contractor within the framework of Subproject 1: "Data collection and processing services for the promotion and creation of a unified marking and information network for the battlefields of Western Macedonia", which is part of the action: "Promotion and creation of a unified marking and information network for the battlefields of Western Macedonia". The action was funded by the Region of Western Macedonia through the Operational Program "Western Macedonia 2014-2020", with European Union funds (ERDF) and national funds from the Public Investment Program (PIP).

The initiative has documented 57 20th century battle sites and 89 related landmarks, which are presented through documented historical entries, archival, bibliographical and photographic material. This approach aims to provide a comprehensive and multifaceted picture of the events, as well as a better understanding of their historical significance.

The action seeks to highlight the places where the war events took place, transforming them into attractive destinations for visitors. At the same time, it aims to freely disseminate reliable knowledge and enhance public awareness of the cultural and historical heritage of Western Macedonia.
